A Graveyard under the overpass!

Gandy is in District 7 which is Rose Ferlita.  She can be reached through the Hillsborough County Government homepage and emailed opposition letters!  She serves on the advisory board , everyone should scrutinize her representation. To the best of my knowledge, Ms. Ferlita has not voiced opposition or expressed concerned for the businesses who will die.  She is elected BY US and expected to SERVE the community and REPRESENT us.
The same holds true for our Mayor, Pam Iorio,…..It is my understanding that the Department of Transportation (Florida) government was the originator of this “study”.  It is bewildering to understand the flow of this travesty.
It is extremely insightful if you go to the website for the Hillsborough County Crosstown Expressway Authority:http://www.tampa-xway.com
In the left hand column you will see a grey highlighted area concerning Gandy.  Read all of the articles that have been printed since the beginning of time.  It is ironic how this has been opposed and duly noted since 1987 and yet the monster continues to grow and raise it’s ugly head.  These are the things I believe.  I believe that Mr. Hargrett (president of THEA) should be held accountable for the letter he wrote to the media last July (the letter is on the website I mentioned)…..I believe we have been duped from the beginning.  The current road median construction project is NOT a beautification project!  They have reduced our roadway, drastically reduced the ability to get to storefronts and are CREATING THE GROUND ELEVATION FOR THE SUPER OVERPASS WITH NO REGARD FOR THE BUSINESSES THAT WILL BE RUINED!.

I WANT TO KNOW WHO GAVE THE Expressway Authority the permission to proceed with these studies, which government agency hands over the real estate to the private enterprise of Selmon Expressway?  Who is writing the check for the slick and glossy brochures that are being mailed out?  I have attached it for you to see what is real with this.
I WANT TO KNOW why it was determined early that the best possible way to make the Gandy Overpass reality was to create an “advisory board”?  Technically those words imply that the chosen group is able to steer ideas into acceptable terms for local residents and businesses.  I have heard from several sources that the meetings (like this one being held next Tuesday) are “open to the public” but the public is not allowed to speak.  They are supposedly gathering information but that is not true.  They divide the board into subcommittees and try to divide and conquer with their studies spoon fed, force fed to the members! .If a board member wants to voice concern or opposition, they are only able to write it on a piece of paper.

In case you have not seen some of the words I have been writing, I will reprint them for you below.  No matter what, we need to be educated about what is happening, we must be heard as a voice of opposition and this needs to stop or some of our businesses will be in the under the overpass!
